Welcome to the third posting of Newton sample code, straight from PIE DTS. This folder contains
• The most recent Newton Q&A documentation
• Too many sample Newton projects to count
• Various other goodies (such as QuickTime movies showing how NewtonScript works) scattered throughout the folders
Please note that most Newton project folders include a file ending in .TXT. This is a listing of the project’s source code in text file format. That way, if you don’t have the Newton Toolkit program, you can still see what complete Newton programs look like.
One inexpensive way to try your hand at Newton programming is to buy the new book Programming for the Newton: Software Development With NewtonScript, by Julie McKeehan and Neil Rhodes. This book includes a floppy disk with a demo version of Newton Toolkit. With it, you can create and modify simple Newton projects (including most, if not all, of these sample-code projects).
Please let us know if you find these files useful. We plan to put new and revised PIE DTS sample code on later CDs but may not if we don’t think they are being used. Enjoy!
